Privacy Policy

Fireside is publicly anonymous by design. This policy explains what remains public and what the service keeps privately.

Effective date: July 29, 2026 · Last updated: July 29, 2026

Contact Fireside

Fireside is the public-facing service and operator name. Privacy questions may be sent to support@firesideperspectives.com. This email is the public contact method for the service.

Information we collect

We collect authentication information supplied during account creation and sign-in; necessary account records; theme and onboarding preferences; content and community actions; reports and moderation records; privacy-safe traffic analytics; and error, security, and performance information needed to operate and protect the service.

Public content

Decision titles, context, categories, Perspectives, community signals, and Final Decisions may be publicly readable. Public content does not display its account owner, but writing can identify a person through the details it includes. Avoid posting names or sensitive identifying information.

Private account relationships

Fireside privately maintains the relationship between an account and its content, likes, reputation, reports, and settings for ownership, security, moderation, abuse prevention, and reputation systems. Broad rank tiers may appear publicly; exact reputation and author relationships remain private.

How information is used

Information is used to provide accounts and community features, maintain public anonymity, secure the service, prevent abuse, moderate content, calculate reputation, answer requests, understand privacy-safe usage, and improve reliability.

Automated safety checks

Text submitted for publication may be sent to OpenAI for automated safety classification. A report enters a private manual-review queue and does not cause punishment by itself. Fireside does not use user content to train its own or third-party general-purpose AI models.

Service providers

  • Supabase — authentication and database hosting
  • Vercel — website hosting, privacy-safe traffic analytics, and performance measurements
  • OpenAI — automated safety classification for submitted and reported text
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — optional bot protection when configured

These providers process information only as needed to supply their services to Fireside, subject to their own terms and privacy practices.

Analytics and advertising

Fireside uses privacy-safe traffic and performance measurements and does not build advertising profiles. The service has no advertisements at launch and does not sell personal data. Future optional premium features, donations, or privacy-respecting advertising may be introduced only with appropriate notice and policy updates.

Account deletion choices

From Profile, a user may delete the account and ask to remove associated Decisions and Perspectives where possible, or delete the account while allowing those contributions to remain for community learning without an account connection. In either case, sign-in data, the public profile and handle, preferences, and ordinary private account records are removed or anonymized. Deletion cannot guarantee immediate removal from backups, quoted material, or records that must reasonably be retained for safety or legal purposes.

Retention

Removed or anonymized when an account is deleted, according to the deletion option selected. Ordinary reports are retained for up to two years. Ordinary moderation records are retained for up to two years; serious safety or legal records may be kept as long as reasonably necessary. Encrypted backups follow the providers’ normal rotation schedules.

Security and anonymity limits

Fireside uses access controls and privacy-focused data boundaries, but no online service can guarantee perfect security, complete anonymity, or that content will never be copied or used to identify someone.

Children

Fireside is for people age 13 or older. A person under the age of legal majority must have permission from a parent or guardian where the law requires it. Fireside does not knowingly invite children under 13 to create accounts.

Privacy rights and requests

Email support@firesideperspectives.com to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information. Fireside may need to verify that the requester controls the account before acting. Rights vary by location, and Fireside will respond as required by applicable law.

Questions and complaints

Email support@firesideperspectives.com with privacy, safety, or service complaints. Include only the information reasonably needed to review the concern. Product feedback may also be sent privately through the feedback form; it is not posted publicly.

Changes

This policy may change as the service or legal requirements change. Material updates will be identified by a new effective or last-updated date and, when appropriate, an additional notice.
